Tradesman and Hopetoun are on track for good preparations after strong trial performances at Lark Hill on Monday.

Tradesman was beaten three lengths in a hot trial which was taken out by Railway Stakes winner Scales Of Justice.

Troy Turner partnered the five-year-old gelding and was able to settle behind the leaders.

He used the whip a couple of times down the home straight and Tradesman hit the line well in limited room to clock a time of 57:52.

Tradesman will start first-up in the Belmont Sprint over 1400m on June 3.

Hopetoun won her trial in a blistering 56:77, the second fastest trial of the day over 950m.

The five-year-old mare defeated Herron Point and Helena Miss while other promising types Thunder Boom and Friarandice were down the track.

She is only a few weeks away from a return to the track.
