Trial Report: Lark Hill 22/04/14
Apr 23, 2014
Heat 1: My Dirty Secret (Clint Harvey)
Heat 1: 400m | FP: 1st of 4 | Jockey: Clint Harvey
Jumped outwards and bumped another runner, but showed decent gate speed to pick up and lead through the 200m. Worked through the gears well and was eased down on the line to win this heat by 1.3L.
My Dirty Secret did pretty much everything we asked of her and she continues to improve with experience. We are planning on trialling her again at Lark Hill on Monday.
Heat 1: Beach Bound (Troy Turner)
Heat 1: 400m | FP: 4th of 4 | Jockey: Troy Turner
Slowly away and bumped at the start but picked up to be 2nd passing the 200m. Faded over the final stages to finish 4th beaten 4.5L.
The well-related Beach Bound has shown a bit of potential but pulled up shin-sore following this trial and will head to the paddock for a minimum six-week spell.
Heat 2: Miss Fathful (Troy Turner)
Heat 2: 400m | FP: 2nd of 4 | Jockey: Troy Turner
Commenced awkwardly and lost ground when racing greenly at the start but picked up to be 2nd passing the 200m, lengthened stride nicely and was doing her best work late when 2nd beaten 13.3L.
Miss Fathful completed her first education trial and while the heat winner appears to be a city winner in the making, she was not too bad. And we really liked the way she worked to the line over the final 200m.
We are planning on trialling her again at Lark Hill next Monday.
Heat 2: Letz Av Fath (Clint Harvey)
Heat 2: 400m | FP: 4th of 4 | Jockey: Clint Harvey
Was slowly away and lost ground before knucking down to improve along the inside to be sharing 3rd passing the 200m, before fading over the concluding stages to finish 4th beaten 16.3L.
Letz Av Fath produced a satisfactory first education trial and we are planning to trial her again at Lark Hill next Monday.
Heat 11: Blustery (Clint Harvey)
Heat 11: 950m | FP: 8th of 8 | Jockey: Clint Harvey
Missed the start badly and was effectively out of contention from the start of this heat. Followed the field around to finish 8th beaten 9.5L.
Blustery bungled the start and never really took part in the heat after that. We will trial her again at Lark Hill next Monday and will be eager to see what she can produce.
Heat 12: Golden Prophetess (Jordan Turner)
Heat 12: 950m | FP: 1st of 8 | Jockey: Jordan Turner
Jumped well from b1 and shared the lead early before railing through on the turn to take the lead. Held a narrow lead swinging for home and quickened nicely when asked for an effort in the straight, holding on to score win by a neck.
Golden Prophetess has come on in leaps and bounds this preparation and we were very happy with the way she performed in this trial.
We are considering taking a team to Albany for the final meeting of the season and we are looking at nominating her for the All-Aged Maiden (1100m) on Thursday May 8.
