Preview: Pinjarra Park 30/03/14

Mar 30, 2014

Race 4: 15-Bremer Babe (Shaun McGruddy)

Thorn Park three-year-old filly Bremer Babe makes her race debut today having been well schooled in barrier trials, including two 1000m Belmont trials this preparation.

Has been doing her best work late in both those trials and her breeding suggests she will appreciate having her first start over 1400m.

Drawn to get the run of the race and hopefully take up a midfield position, and we expect her to finish her race off well in the straight. Is likely to improve as the distances get longer and we are looking for her to run on and finish right on the placegetters' heels today.

Race 8: 5-Slick Shifter (Clint Harvey)

Slick Shifter looks well placed dropping back into Class 1 company fourth-up over the mile today, after competing in Rtg 56-68 grade at a midweek Ascot meeting last start (March 19).

Was a litle disappointing when ridden up on-speed last start so we will be riding Slick Shifter cold today, allowing him to find his feet early and get into a rhythm.

That is the way he races best and if he can reproduce his first two performances this preparation then he will go close to winning this. We're expecting him to be running on well at the finish and he looks a top three chance.
