Ascot carnival prospect Black Sabbath has stylishly topped off his preparation to resume in Saturday’s $100,000 TABtouch 3YO Classic (1000m) at Bunbury.

Co-trained by Robert and Todd Harvey, the Blackfriars gelding burst on to the scene with impressive wins over 1100m and 1200m at Ascot last May in his first two races.

“He worked really well this morning,” Todd Harvey said yesterday.

“The Bunbury race should suit him and he’s ready to go. We couldn’t have been happier with him since last week’s trial.”

Black Sabbath ran on strongly to win a 1000m trial at Belmont Park last Monday week.

He is looming as a contender for the $500,000 Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) at Ascot on November 24, but the Harvey's will delay selecting a principal target until after assessing his first-up performance.

He is likely to face stiff opposition from Valour Road, Lady Cosmology, Lordhelpmerun, Chix Pic and Agent Pippa.
