Race 1: 4-Pago Minx (Troy Turner)
Three-year-old gelding Pago Minx is racing first-up from a spell today but was sharpened up for this with two recent barrier trials, with his latest being an impressive three-length win over 1000m on March 17.
Showed gate speed to work forward and lead in that trial and we are expecting him to go forward again here. Looks really well placed over the 920m short-course and Troy Turner is making the trip to Narrogin to ride him, which is a good sign.
We really like Pago Minx today and he is the best of our three runners. Winning chance.
Race 6: 5-Detroy County (Clint Harvey)
Detroy County has been kept fresh since a long road trip to Norseman resulted in a comfortable maiden victory over 1000m on March 8.
Looks suited today jumping from the good barrier and we expect her to begin well and enjoy the gun run right on the leaders' heels.
Has come through the trip to Norseman well and we expect her to figure prominently at the finish of this. Each way.
Race 8: 5-Who’s To Blame (Clint Harvey)
There is no doubt that Who's To Blame has her share of ability but she has been struggling to produce her best form recently, finishing out of the placings at her past three outings.
Should strip fitter for this assignment, however, as she was having her first start in 40 days when finishing almost six lengths behind Ocean Cracker in Rtg 56-68 company over 1400m at Bunbury last start (March 13).
Will appreciate dropping back to Rtg 52-64 grade today and stepping up to the 1700m is also a positive. Would toy with these rivals at her peak so she has to be considered an each-way chance.
