Race 4: 4-Slick Shifter (Clint Harvey)

Slick Shifter races second-up from a spell today following his eye-catching first-up performance at Albany on February 9, when storming home from near last to finish a head second behind the in-form Tekapo Tango over 1100 metres. And we probably could have walked away with a win on that occasion had he not ducked in when racing greenly at a crucial stage in the straight.

Steps up to a more suitable 1400 metres today and while he has drawn a bit wide, he does tend to drift back in his races regardless so the draw shouldn’t be a massive problem.

That first-up run was a cracker and his recent trackwork suggests he’s ready to run a big race. We believe he’s a strong each-way chance.
