Misty Metal is off to the paddock after her brave third at Belmont on Wednesday.

The Oratorio filly led the David Gray’s Aglink Handicap field up to the corner, booted away but was just caught late by the promising Rockon Tommy and debutant Three Secrets.

Aaron Mitchell rode Misty Metal at her third career start.

She showed good speed from the gates, but the winner was too strong late at the end of 1200m, a distance Misty Metal was at for the first time in her career.

Co-trainer Todd Harvey was pleased with the filly’s effort and said she had pulled up fine.

She is now off for a well deserved break after her first preparation produced a win, a third and an eye catching run in Saturday grade.
